Before you choose, note that there are two types of poker machines:
1. Full pay - the best possible payback for a specific poker game
2. Short pay - poker games with lower paybacks
Poker Payoffs:
4000 for a Royal Flush
250 for a Straight Flush
125 for a Four of a Kind
45 for a Full House
30 for a Flush
20 for a Straight
15 for a Three of a Kind
10 for a Two Pair
<>BR
5 for a Pair of Jacks or Better
In addition, some poker machines offer progressive jackpots
appearing in clusters of eight or more linked between them.
Usually, the regular winnings are slightly reduced and this
deducted sum then being added to the progressive poker jackpot.
Thus even though your winnings are less, it's in your best
interests to try for the jackpot and win it big. You will win a
lot more money this way playing Jacks or Better Poker.
Don't play with less than five coins for this will make you ineligible
for the full 4000-royal flush winnings. Thus play on a lower amount
poker machine with five coins rather than on a higher amount machine with one coin.
You must also be aware how to play this poker variation accurately. I
have noted down a few rules and tips for improving your odds at Jacks or Better Poker.
1. Never break a pair if you have two pairs.
2. But break up a high pair only for any four card straight flush or
for a four card royal.
3. Likewise break up any low pair for any four card flushes or any
three card royal flush.
4. In a poker game, break any three of a kind of jacks, queens, kings
or aces for any two suited high cards.
5. Break ace-king-queen-jack to open the possibility for a three of a kind.
6. Draw to any and all kinds of three card flushes.
7. If it's your only high suited card, retain a suited ten with a queen or jack.
8. Retain any one, two or three high cards. The exception to this rule
is when you have an Ace with a jack, queen, king or ace. In this situation,
discard the ace.
As you play away at this version of video poker, pay attention to
the amounts you are betting on. You are here to enjoy and have a
thrilling experience - keep it at that.
